Projetos de pesquisa

  Estudos sobre possíveis influências das relações solares-terrestres na atmosfera terrestre., Descrição: Os estudos sobre clima espacial e as relações Sol-Terra vêm apresentando expressivo desenvolvimento, a partir da utilização de tecnologias embarcadas em satélites. Fenômenos solares são fonte de possíveis impactos ao ambiente terrestre, seu bioma e a sistemas tecnológicos, os quais carreiam grandes investimentos de recursos humanos e financeiros. É necessário aprimorarmos nossos conhecimentos para melhor saber avaliar e gerenciar os possíveis riscos e impactos causados por eles. Propõe-se, neste projeto de pesquisa, realizar estudos sobre os impactos causados no sistema ionosfera-termosfera-mesosfera por fenômenos solares, geomagnéticos com diferentes escalas de tempo, desde eventos transientes tais como as explosões solares, ejeções coronais de massa, e tempestades geomagnéticas, a fenômenos com longos períodos de variação. Para tanto, utilizar-se-ão dados observacionais com técnicas específicas de sondagem com radio instrumentação, e que permitem uma cobertura multi-instrumental para diferentes setores longitudinais e latitudinais do globo. O trabalho proposto neste projeto visa contribuir com os estudos internacionais da área de clima espacial e conta com cooperações científicas em andamento e bancos de dados de instituições no país e no exterior.
