Luiz Augusto Fontes Laranjeira

É Professor Adjunto do curso de Engenharia de Software da Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade Gama (FGA), desde agosto de 2009. Possui doutorado em Eng. de Computação pela Universidade do Texas em Austin, 1992, e fez pós-doutorado em segurança de redes no National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, MD, EUA. Além disto tem mestrado em Eng. Elétrica pela COPPE (Coordenação dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia), 1983, e graduação em Eng. Elétrica pela Universidade de Brasília, 1979. Seus principais interesses de pesquisa são segurança de redes computacionais, dependabilidade de sistemas computacionais (especialmente confiabilidade, disponibilidade e segurança) e engenharia de software. Publicou vários artigos de pesquisa em revistas e conferências nacionais e internacionais na área de sistemas críticos e engenharia de software. Tem 26 anos de experiência na indústria de software onde ocupou posições técnicas e gerenciais na área de plataformas computacionais de alta confiabilidade (18 anos) e na área de segurança das comunicações (8 anos). De 1984 a 1987 trabalhou no Centro de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento para a Segurança das Comunicações (Cepesc) em Brasíla. Trabalhou de 1988 a 2009 nas indústrias de telecomunicações e de redes de computadores nos EUA em companhias de alta tecnologia tais como Sun Microsystems, Compaq e Tandem Computers, como também em companhias pioneiras tais como Narus, Shoretel, Xtera, SS8 e Xcerla.

Projeto SALTAR - Sistema de Análise de Link e Tráfego de Dados em Redes de Comunicação, Descrição: O Projeto SALTAR é uma parceria entre a Universidade de Brasília e o CDCiber do Exército Brasileiro. Ele se propõe a pesquisar técnicas de detecção de anomalias (malwares) em redes de computadores com base em Data Science e Machine Learning, e também a produzir um protótipo que implemente as novas técnicas e algoritmos inventados ou aperfeiçoados. (1) Managed software development teams from 4 to 15 engineers. (2) Represented SS8 Networks in Lawful Interception Standards Body meetings (ATIS). (3) Wrote functional specs and design documents, worked with PLM to discuss and streamline requirements for the Lawful Intercept platform. (4) Designed, coded and tested a data replication solution for the platform home-grown database used to keep the master and slave database instances in sync. (5) Worked on the 3-tier GUI implementation and testing using XML, Java, MySQL and MySQL replication. (6) Designed implemented and tested in C++ a buffering function which received intercepted communications content from the LI system and stored that data into pcap files according to Lawful Interception standards. (7) Used technologies such as C++, Java, multithreading, Solaris, Sun Microsystems servers, MySQL DB, Veritas Cluster Server, ClearCase, ClearQuest, TCP/UDP/IP, RADIUS, DHCP. (8) Responsible for the High Availability aspects of the platform (enhancements and feature development). (9) Acted as a technical advisor to the VP of Engineering researching new technologies and companies for aquisition, providing architectural and system recommendations for the Xcipio Lawful Interception platform.
