Possui graduação pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro(1949), graduação em Bacharelado em Fisica pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro(1960), especialização pelo Observatório Nacional(1946) e doutoradopela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro(1962). Atualmente é PESQUISADOR EMERITO/ PESQ. TITULAR do Observatório Nacional, REPRESENTANTE BRASILEIRO do Instituto Pan-Americano de Geografia e Historia e Pres. do Comitê de Geomagnetismo e Aeronomia do Instituto Pan-Americano de Geografia e Historia. Tem experiência na área de Geociências, com ênfase em Geofísica. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas:Biografia, Brasil, Campo Geomagnetico, Desenvolvimento Cientifico, Eclipses do Sol e Einstein.
