Artur da Silva Gouveia Neto

Possui graduação em Física pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1979), mestrado em Física pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (1983) e doutorado em Física - University of London (1987). Atualmente é professor titular da Universidade Federal de Alagoas. Tem experiência na área de Física, com ênfase em Física da Matéria Condensada, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: rare-earth, optical-fiber, upconversion, glass e fluorescence.

Estudo do efeito de estresses em plantas por metais via espectroscopia de fluorescência induzida por LED, Descrição: Neste projeto desenvolveremos um sistema experimental para medidas de Fluorescência Clorofílica induzida por laser à temperatura ambiente usando um sistema espectroscópico convencional excitado por radiação laser em comprimentos de onda na região do UV-Visível. Estudaremos as propriedades de emissão de luz na região do verde (500 nm), vermelho (690 nm) e vermelho profundo (730 nm) por clorofila de folhas de plantas cultivadas ?in vitro? e ?in vivo? a partir de radiação laser no ultravioleta, azul, verde e vermelho. O estudo identificará e analisará o efeito de estresses induzidos por agentes abióticos (salinidade, temperatura, déficit hídrico, metais contaminantes de solos). Medidas de espectro de fluorescência clorofílica na região do vermelho, em 690 nm, e vermelho profundo, em 735 nm, serão obtidas em folhas de plantas no regime estacionário de exposição luminosa, isto é, após alguns minutos de excitação com radiação laser. As medidas serão ajustadas com combinações de gaussianas para de-convolução e obtenção dos picos e larguras das fluorescências obtidas. A razão entre as intensidades de fluorescência em 690nm e 730nm obtidas das curvas ajustadas estará qualitativamente correlacionada ao teor de clorofila nas diferentes amostras de plantas. A razão entre F690/FR735 é inversamente proporcional ao teor de clorofila da amostra e sua variação depende em mais de 90% apenas deste fator, além de ser uma técnica não invasiva (destrutiva). Estudo da emissão de luz em materiais vítreos para aplicação em fotônica, Descrição: Neste projeto de pesquisa estudaremos as propriedades ópticas lineares e não-lineares e emissão de luz visível a partir de radiação no infravermelho, através do processo de conversão ascendente de frequências, em vitrocerâmicas transparentes e vidros especiais dopados com elementos lantanídeos(Er, Ho, Nd, Pr, Tm, Tb, e Yb e suas combinações).
