Mark Wever

Mark Wever (PhD, Wageningen University, The Netherlands; M.A., Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands) currently works as a researcher (Programa Jovens Talentos para a Ciência - CNPq/Capes) at CEPAN/Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Prior to his current position, he worked as a researcher at the Management Studies Group of Wageningen University. During his stay at Wageningen University, Dr. Wever was involved in the multi-disciplinary Q-Porkchains program, which was focused on improving the competitive position of the European pork meat industry. Participation in this program involved collaborating with various institutions in Europe (University of Bonn, Germany; Institut Polytechnique LaSalle Beauvais, France; Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain) in various relevant issues for the pork meat industry (e.g., supply chain management, quality management, governance). Furthermore, Dr. Wever has worked as a guest researcher at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Department of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences) and at Universidade de São Paulo (School of Economics Business and Accounting). During his PhD studies, he has passed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examination and has worked for Shell Asset Management Company (Shell Group) as a performance analyst. Dr. Wever is a former (affiliate) member of the CFA Society of The Netherlands and the CFA Institute (Charlottesville, VA, USA) and a current member of the Academy of Management. His academic work has been published in journals such as Journal of Supply Chain Management (the second highest ranked management journal within Thomson Reuters s Social Sciences Citation index at the time of publication) and Meat Science (an ISI impact factor of 2.6 at the time of publication). In August 2013 he won the Harold E. Fearon Best Paper Award of the Journal of Supply Chain Management. Awarded at the 2013 Academy of Management Conference (Orlando, FL), by the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISM).
