Sabrina da Silva Soares

I am currently a veterinarian responsible for animal experimentation and a postdoctoral fellow in the department of experimental pain at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. A PhD in the pathophysiology of chronic pain was also carried out by the University of Heidelberg between the years 2019 and 2023. The MSc in Pharmacology was completed in 2018 (2016-2018) from the University of Coimbra in Portugal. Graduation in Veterinary Medicine (2006-2011) and residency in Anaesthesiology (2012-2014) were performed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to follow the clinical, surgical and anesthetic routine of several veterinary clinics and hospitals in Brazil and South America by performing extracurricular internships, emphasizing the learning of Anesthesiology. The master's research project included animal experimentation in pain and inflammation using mainly rodents as research models and different methods for pain and inflammation assessment. The PhD had as main focus the study of neurophysiological mechanisms of neuropathy and chronic pain development. During the doctorate, experiments in electro-neurophysiology were performed in pigs and rodents and in patients from the pain department of the human hospital at the University of Heidelberg. The current postdoctoral research is a continuation of the research project carried out during the doctorate.

Further purification from Preparative Plate Chromatography and Sephadex Collum. Structural Elucidation of the isolated compounds achieved by Nuclear Magnetic Ressonance Spectroscopy H-NMR and C-NMR.
