Sílvia Delgado Olabarriaga

Silvia cursou Tecnólogo em Processamento de Dados na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1982), e depois obteve mestrado em Ciencia da Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1987). Em 1999 Silvia obteve o grau de doutor em Computer Science na University of Amsterdam, Holanda, com a tese "Segmentacao interativa de imagens medicas". Silvia retornou ao Instituto de Informatica da UFRGS como professora, e depois retornou a Holanda como post-doctoral fellow em duas instituicoes. Desde 2010 Silvia é professora assistente no Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam (AMC), onde lidera o grupo de pesquisa em "e-science". Silvia tem interesse na interseccao das área de Ciência da Computação e Life Sciences, tendo atuado principalmente nos seguintes temas: segmentação de imagens médicas, computação gráfica, interação homem-máquina, computacao distribuida e e-science.
