Cláudio Radtke

Possui graduação em Engenharia Química (1999) e doutorado em Física(2003), ambos pela UFRGS. Atualmente é Professor Associado do Instituto de Química dessa mesma Universidade. Realizou estágio pós-doutoral no CEA (França) e na Universidade de Waterloo (Canadá). Tem experiência na área de Físico-Química, com ênfase em superfícies e filmes finos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: dielétricos, semicondutores, análise por feixes de íons, traçagem isotópica e espectroscopia de elétrons.

Aplicação de materiais semicondutores bidimensionais em sensores de pressão de catéteres intracranianos, Descrição: Dentre os mais diversos procedimentos para avaliação e tratamento de pacientes com trauma, a monitorização da pressão intracraniana (PIC) é, talvez, o mais importante. Entretanto, monitorar a PIC não é uma tarefa simples de ser realizada, pois implica em acessar, geralmente de forma invasiva, um território bastante suscetível a infecções e de difícil acesso. Por volta dos anos 2000, com o surgimento das técnicas de micro fabricação de sensores de pressão do tipo MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems), foi possível miniaturizar a eletrônica e colocá-la na ponta de um cateter. Desta forma, somente fios elétricos muito finos sairiam da cabeça do paciente, sendo possível eliminar qualquer contato do líquido cefalorraquidiano (LCR) com o meio externo. Neste contexto tecnológico, inúmeros dispositivos foram construídos em silício, o material semicondutor de base. Apesar da hegemonia deste material na microeletrônica, outros materiais têm atraído interesse da comunidade científica para aplicações de MEMS, como os materiais semicondutores bidimensionais. Neste projeto, o objetivo norteador é a obtenção de um sensor de pressão fabricado com materiais semicondutores bidimensionais, o qual será incorporado a um catéter intracraniano. A criação desse sensor exige a incorporação de tecnologias de ponta, promovendo a aquisição de conhecimento e expertise em micro fabricação de semicondutores e componentes microeletrônicos específicos. Essa expertise pode, por sua vez, fortalecer a capacidade da indústria local para inovações tecnológicas mais amplas. Físico-Química de superfícies e interfaces sólidas: aplicações em nanoeletrônica e em armazenamento de energia., Descrição: As características físico-químicas da superfície dos materiais têm um papel fundamental em diversas aplicações. Industrialmente, as reações que ocorrem em superfícies são utilizadas para produzir derivados petrolíferos e outros produtos como plásticos, fibras e tintas. A maioria dos circuitos integrados de computadores e tantos outros dispositivos micro e nanoeletrônicos são também fabricados por uma série de reações químicas que ocorrem na superfície de diferentes materiais. Processos eletroquímicos os quais ocorrem na superfície de eletrodos sólidos é outro exemplo dessa importante classe de fenômenos. Reações químicas em superfícies representam uma fração substancial da economia mundial. Dessa forma, torna-se essencial o conhecimento e o controle das propriedades das superfícies utilizadas em diferentes processos. No presente projeto, pretende-se utilizar um conjunto de ferramentas de preparação de superfícies e análise de amostras visando à compreensão dos mecanismos envolvidos na síntese, processamento e operação de diferentes sistemas de grande interesse tecnológico nas áreas de nanoeletrônica e armazenamento de energia. Passivação da Superfície de monocristais de Ge e Formação de Camadas Dielétricas sobre esse Material, Descrição: Status: Coordenador. Programa: Edital 001/2013 - PQG O presente projeto de pesquisa visa ao desenvolvimento de conhecimento (básico e tecnológico) na área de novos materiais com potencial utilização na área de micro e nanoeletrônica. O principal foco será a superfície de materiais semicondutores, mais especificamente o germânio e o grafeno, e as interfaces formadas entre esses materiais com diferentes compostos e moléculas. As estruturas alvo serão i) a de filmes dielétricos crescidos ou depositados sobre os substratos semicondutores, a qual constitui a base de inúmeros dispositivos e ii) filmes de grafeno produzidos pela oxidação do grafite e posterior dispersão e redução sobre um substrato. Nesse contexto, investigaremos a passivação da superfície do Germânio, etapa fundamental na fabricação de dispositivos. Formação de nanolaminados dielétricos sobre carbeto de silício monocristalino, Descrição: Status: Coordenador. Programa: Edital MCT/CNPq #09/2007. Nº processo: 550273/2007-7. Valor total: R$ 138.520,00 A presente proposta se enquadra na área de manipulação em escala nanométrica das propriedades de estruturas dielétrico/semicondutor. Investigar-se-ão as alterações composicionais e químicas de filmes dielétricos com alguns nanômetros de espessura, crescidos termicamente ou depositados sobre carbeto de silício monocristalino. Tais alterações são induzidas por diferentes tratamentos térmicos visando à melhoria das propriedades elétricas do filme formado. Também serão investigadas as espécies móveis envolvidas na oxidação térmica desse material, conhecimento fundamental para o controle das características de nanoestruturas formadas sobre o mesmo. Mecanismos de Crescimento, estabilidade termodinâmica e desempenho elétrico de filmes dielétricos de alta permissividade para a nanotecnologia do Si, Descrição: Status: Colaborador. Programa: Edital CAPES/COFECUB. Nº processo: 501/05/07 Esse projeto visa à pesquisa da estabilidade termodinâmica de filmes de LaAlO3/Si para a nanotecnologia do Si e também o intercâmbio de conhecimento técnico e científico dos métodos de deposição de filmes ultrafinos dielétricos sobre Si, das análises baseadas em feixe de íons e métodos de caracterização elétrica de estruturas MOS. Com a viabilização desse projeto será possível obter filmes de LaAlO3 depositados sobre c-Si e realizar estudos de suas propriedades elétricas e termodinâmicas a fim de verificar a viabilidade da utilização desse material como dielétrico de porta nos dispositivos MOSFETs. Para isso será necessário responder a algumas perguntas, tais como: Qual a constante dielétrica obtida com essas estruturas? Qual a espessura equivalente ao SiO2 é obtida com filmes de LaAlO3? Essa espessura equivalente se mantém após os tratamentos térmicos pós-deposição? Como ela varia, e qual a correlação disso com o transporte atômico e possíveis mudanças estruturais nos filmes de LaAlO3? Os pós-tratamentos térmicos em diferentes atmosferas podem levar a formação de camadas interfaciais? Qual a sua composição? É possível evitar a formação de camadas interfaciais? Há transporte (difusão) de espécies metálicas em direção ao substrato de Si que possa comprometer a mobilidade dos portadores de carga na região do canal?
